They have been in past years, but the gentleman who owns Yip's has been ill and friends have stepped in to help run things while he is away. As of now they plan to be open on Christmas from 11am- about 9pm
Yes, they are open
Best to call in and ask for mgr....good luck to you
Dim sum every day but weekends have full menu
Y.E.S. they are focused on making the customer happy....happy customers come back
The owner here is very sweet and kind! The people here made sure that me and my family were taken care of! Food is AMAZING!! 10/10 recommended! Best Asian food in the area! 👍🏼
Last two times I ate here they messed up my order. Today they charged me 20 dollars for what was supposed to be a vegetable dish, but all I got was a lot of sauce. Called up there and they didn't seem to understand my complaint. Kinda irritated I spent 20 bucks on a meal and I'm going to have to go order more food somewhere else.
Excellent food and service. Wide range of options including dim sum all day. The authentic Kung Pao Chicken was very good. I will definitely be back to try more menu items.
Hands down the best Asian food I have had in a while! The house special friend rice is amazing and I could eat my weight in dim sum!
So good, every time! Very polite crew.
Okay. Wow, where to start? Uncle Yip's was fantastic. From the very nice young fellow that took our orders and walked us through just what Dim Sum is to the wonderful people who kept bringing us endless carts of glorious-ness. My friend and I walked in for just a little Chinese and walked out Dim Sum masters. Okay not masters but we really had a better appreciation for Dim Sum and traditional fare. 5 Stars, we will be returning with a group!
The dim sum on weekends is wonderful. I regularly drive all the way from Dayton, generally with groups of friends.
Absolutely amazing, even in a time like this they are taking precautions to keep us safe and fed!!! Would encourage everyone to try!!!!
The place doesn't look very big or appealing from the outside, but don't let that fool you — inside it's very spacious and the decor is very authentic. It actually reminds me of a restaurant you woud find in NYC's Chinatown. Dim sum is very much Cantonese, as it's somewhat of a Hong Kong stable (as although it's definitely grown to other regions of China)... I really like that they have a lunch menu (most items were about $6 and there was a lot to choose from). This also serves a lot of actual Chinese dishes, with the usual Americanized choices too. On every table is a pothos plant in water, very visually appealing.
This was one of the most amazing dining experiences I've ever had!on Saturdays and Sundays they have an alacarte style. they come around several different times with carts of options for you to choose from. The food was amazing! Best ever!
It was ok, granted we didn't do the dim sum. The one dumplings we had the sticky pork, were good. My wife's orange chicken was loaded with bitter orange peels, some of which were burnt. My Kung Pao chicken was ok, not great. The egg rolls weren't bad, the crab rangoons were also pretty decent, again, nothing was bad but nothing was great. There is much better Chinese down the street, but they were closed this evening. You can do better.
This is my favorite Chinese food in Cincinnati. We don't go anywhere else but here when we feel like Chinese. Go check it out you won't be disappointed.
Fresh food fast. One of the best places to get some hunan chicken amd tea or a beer.. friendly service
Nice people! Lovely food! If you want a real experience that is very close to authentic China than this is the restaurant to go
Popular restaurant with a large local following. I have been wanting to go to Uncle Yip's for a month now,....it has always been too full or the timing was not right on my end. I finally had my shot a day or two ago,...(went 2x in 2 days) The 5 dollar lunch special may be the best Chinese value on Earth.....expect to wait and hurried service during lunch and dinner hours. Please 👍up my review if you find it helpful
Ate like kings on a pauper budget. The meals are actually 2 meals so plan on doggie bags. Perfect spice levels for each of us and we talked to the owners for a long time. So fun and clean and great atmosphere. Good for couples or families. Ran the gamut of fried rice dishes, soups, noodles, saute veggies, meats, teas, dumplings, rolls, sauces and dips, you name it. All were yummay. When my kids clean their plates I know it's good...they are hard to please.
Dandy Dim Sum experience, exceeding most NYC spots. We love the har gao, shrimp stuffed jalapeno and the collagen gooey beef tendon. The overall food quality has vastly improved over the last year, and holds steady for lunch and dinner, too.
Fast becoming one of my favorite stops in Cincinnati. Can't go wrong with either the plentiful, delicious and cheap lunch or the great dinners.
Without question, the best and most authentic Chinese/Cantonese restaurant in Cincinnati. Very highly recommended. We have been dining-in and taking-out from Uncle Yips for many years and have always been very satisfied. The Dim Sum is fantastic! The staff is very friendly, helpful and happy to work hard to ensure you have a great dining experience.
First time here....definitely coming back. Food was excellent!!!!
Absolutely delicious! The vegetable fried has fresh veggies like zucchini. Maybe its common and I just didn't know about it...needless to say awesome. Orange chicken was really good.. Not greasy, the chicken doesn't taste processed. You pay a few more dollars then you normally would on this type of cuisine but definitely worth it.
The food is very good. You had better try it. But
Excellent restaurant. Lots of good options. The dim sums were fresh and tasty. We also ordered a few more dishes and they were all wonderful. The service was also friendly and fast. I'm definitely coming back!
I eat at a lot of chinese restaurants and this one by far takes the cake. Amaaazzzing food with huge portions. Great service, constant refills without having to ask. Extremely friendly staff that let us know about upcoming events. Great for family sized parties with the spinning table to share the large portions. I wish i could give this more stars because it deserves every bit. Sizzling pepper beef 11/10
Most authentic tasting Chinese food I've had in ages! This is a wonderful place to eat. Friendly staff, delicious food, clean restaurant, and a great atmosphere. I'll definitely be back!
If you don't know where it is, it would be easy to drive past it. It's tucked into a corner of the strip mall, but completely worth a stop! The staff was very nice and gave suggestions on what to get. The food was good, and for Dim Sum to be about $4 each, it's a good way to try different ones. I really enjoyed their leek dim sum, and also had the BBQ pork, shrimp, and seasame balls. Great place!
Family run restaurant currently still open for take out.Good dim sum restaurant that's served all day. If you like dim sum, Cantonese and sichuan style cooking, this is the place to go.Good food, good people, good prices. What more can you ask for.
So flavorful and delicious. This was first time ordering but I’m definitely going back
Really enjoyed the dim sum we had at Uncle Yip's. It's a great atmosphere, and the food is exceptional.
I came here because of a coupon I had. Walking in the decor is pretty horrible, I was very hesitant on ordering and it being good.We got the lunch menu and everything was so cheap, so we ordered alot of food not realizing how big the portions would be. The portions are HUGE for only $5! The wontons and egg rolls came fast and were fresh. And the main course came, it was amazing. Best Asian BBQ I've had. They also create some dishes in American style or traditional style which was so awesome. I will come here again and again.
Literally haven’t reviewed a restaurant In Cincinnati since I moved here but y’all!!!!! When I say these are the best dim sums I ever had in my ENTIRE LIFE. I ordered through DoorDash! The dim sum was so well made and seasoned to perfection. The texture and the quality of the meat inside of these things are literally top notch world class! THIS SHOULD BE ILLEGAL TO BE THIS AMAZING!!!!!!
Loved the dim sum.. totally will go back.
A good Chinese restaurant in the vicinity. The food is good and the portions are HUGE! There are a lot of vegetarian options to try from. I had the spring roll and lo mein. My friend had chicken spring roll and mangolian chicken. We both liked our food. The service was a little off. It could get better. But we had a good time and would definitely visit again for the food.
Oh Man!!! Probably the best Chinese I've been to in the Cincinnati area, ever. Fast, Hot (burnt my mouth), Large portions, Friendly, Clean, Great Decor. I had Sesame Chicken at lunch. Was expecting the usual cut down version for the lunch menu. NOPE, full plate, rice on the side. Ordered Egg Rolls, again expecting little ones. I ordered 2. But, they were huge, hand rolled and fresh. I was so full, but I couldn't take it home. I ate every bite there in the restaurant because I felt comfortable. My waiter was a young guy, dressed in up-to-date shirt, tie, and slacks. He was native Chinese but, could perfectly understand his English. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who truely loves chinese as much as me.
Wonderful food, served in traditional way, I loved it so much. See the food before you buy it!
Amazing food , friendly staff.
Best place for dimsum in the CINCINNATI area. Go and get the steamed pork dumplings or “char siu bao”! It is the best place I have been to outside of Hong Kong.
Dim sum is excellant! When you come here please check the menu for the most popular items, they are the best! Their specialty is authentic Chinese food, not the Chinese take out food.
We had an extraordinary in this restaurant. We liked the superb atmosphere and the menu. The waiters were very affable. I’m glad we eventually managed to visit here.
Found this hidden gem when searching for Dim Sum near us. So glad we stopped in for lunch!! What a wonderful treat!! The staff was so lovely. They were kind enough to explain items to us and make suggestions. The food, just writing about it makes my mouth water!! Great dim sum. Great choices on each cart! We will absolutely be back! (Maybe next weekend!)
Very traditional catoness takes. Fresh materials in cheap price! Beautiful environment!
As always great service & food. It is such a great dining experience everytime we go. Highly recommended.
I LOVE Uncle Yip's! Their food is absolutely delicious, my favorite items include pot stickers, gailan choy, beef hor fun (i think this is fried noodle), and mongolian beef!! Would recommend to anyone, very authentic (just like my grandma cooks) and tasty !! Support this family owned small business Asian restaurant!!
The best Chinese food we've found since we moved to Cincinnati. The food was authentic and well made. The staff was like a group of friendly grandmothers constantly coming over to see if we were enjoying and watching the kids eat
Dim sum! Dim Sum! Dim sum! Yummy!
Awesome dim sum...great quality and wonderful all round!
Good service and authentic food. The seasalt tofu and Manila clams with black bean sauce were the best. Caution for the pork and beef stew. It's Alot of ingredients (intestines, tripe, pork blood, ham, beansprout, chili) that newcomers shouldn't try unless you like it.
Excellent dim sum options. The carts are constantly moving and have a good variety of options. Everything tastes very clean. There are a good selection of larger hot dishes that you can order as soon as you sit down. Don't be afraid to get up and peer into the carts to get a better view of the dishes as they show them. They do a good job of explaining the dishes to the uninitiated so don't be intimidated by the unknown!
Wonderful Chinese food here for dinner tonight! My friend had the chicken with pan fried noodles (crispy) which she loved. I had shredded pork with hot garlic sauce that was excellent. The sauce was not very spicey hot, perfect for me. For dessert we had crispy sesame balls with red bean filling from the dim sum menu, that were amazing, hot, fresh, not too sweet. Memorable! The portions were large and we took leftovers home. At 6 on a Monday the place was not busy and we were served quickly. I think dim sum is made when you order it so expect to wait a bit. We're coming back for sure!
